The mega blood donation camp held at Khalsa College here today turned into an icon of unity in diversity. Cameras had been installed at four various places at the camp for head count. “This has been done in compliance with the orders of the Guinness authorities. Only donors are being made to pass where cameras have been installed,” said Jasminder Singh Jassi, spokesperson for the camp. The site for the camp was divided into 14 blocks, each having 50 beds. There were around 2,500 donations in an hour averaging 15 minutes per donor. As many as 5,000 volunteers, including 3,000 paramedical staff personnel, were deployed to ensure a smooth operation of the camp.
