At the outset I squarely refute the charges of Jagdish Tytler appreared in a section of the press that there was a conspiracy behind my protest at the press conference of Home Minister P.C Chidambram. My protest was not against any individual or part of any design as attempted to be projected in the news item.It seems to be a vain effort to divert public attention from the real issue--the denial of justice to the anti-Sikh riots for 25 years.I am forced to make this
statment to clear my position.

I maintain that I have no affliliation with any political party or outfit. And I am ready to face punishment of any sort if someone could prove it otherwise.

The fact is that the Home Minister Conference was scheduled to be held on April 6 (2009) but it was rescheduled to the next day as Mr Chidambram could not reach Delhi on that day.It was sheer coincidence that the day the Home Minister addressed the media, the Akalis had also organised a protest with regard to anti-Sikh riots.Hence any attempt to find any link between my protest any that of the Akalis is unrealistic and farfetched.

Instead of holding any inquiry into the the April seven episode,why no an enquiry should be conducted into the entire gamut of anti-Sikh violence to arrive at the truth and to know how violence was planned, executed and later evidences were destroyed. Why witnesses turned hostile and culprits went scot free. There should also be brain-mapping and polygraphic test of the accused as well the hostile witnesses to unearth the real conspiracy.

Further, I was a regular visitor to AICC office for past so many years and after the announcement of the general elections , I was assigned to concentrate on political developments.Three-four days before this incident, I had covered a press conference held by Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal at the same venue.I was assigned also to keep a watch on poltical developments relating to Punjab,Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh at the AICC as these states are part of my beat for past many years.. February onwards my main journalistic beats were almost freezed and I was writing poltical stories for election pages.

Bhagat Bhikan's Ji

BHIKHAN (1480-1573), a medieval Indian saint two of whose hymns are included in the Guru Granth Sahib. There are in fact two saints of that time sharing the same name— Bhakta Bhikhan and Bhikhan the Sufi. Bhakta Bhikhan was a devotee in the tradition of Ravidãs and Dhannã. He was born at Kakori near Lucknow in present day Uttar Pardesh state in India.. His hymns in the Guru Granth Sahib reflect his dedication to the Name of Hari (God) which he describes as "cure for all ills of the world."

Bhagat Bhikhan was the most learnt of the learned men of the time of Emperor Akbar. For many years, he was engaged in teaching and instructing the people. He stated that this spiritual succession was from Mir Saiyid Ibrahim of Irij. He left several children who were adorned with piety, wisdom, knowledge and virtue. The hymns of Bhagat ji resemble those of Sheikh Farid

The mega blood donation camp held at Khalsa College here today turned into an icon of unity in diversity. People from various castes, walks of life and all age groups participated in this exercise, which aims to making it to the Guinness Book of World Records..... ......... ......... ......... ......

Cameras had been installed at four various places at the camp for head count. “This has been done in compliance with the orders of the Guinness authorities. Only donors are being made to pass where cameras have been installed,” said Jasminder Singh Jassi, spokesperson for the camp. He added that the moment 18,207 were collected, the camp would be concluded... ......... ............. ..

The site for the camp was divided into 14 blocks, each having 50 beds. There were around 2,500 donations in an hour averaging 15 minutes per donor. As many as 5,000 volunteers, including 3,000 paramedical staff personnel, were deployed to ensure a smooth operation of the camp.

Baba Farid Ji

There are 134 Shabads (hymns) of Sheikh Farid incorporated in the Guru Granth Sahib. Many Sikh scholars ascribe them to Farid Shakarganj (1173 – 1265) of Pak Pattan, a disciple of the Sufi Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki. The tenth in succession to his post was Shaikh Brahm (Ibrahim), also known as Farid Sani or Farid the 2nd, and it is this Farid who Guru Nanak Dev met on two occasions.

Baba Farid is recognised as the first major poet of the Punjabi language and in recognition of his exalted status, the district of Faridkot in Punjab, northern India is named after him. Baba ji was a Muslim with a predominantly Sufi background.

Farid ji has been honoured by the Gurus of Sikhism and his verses were collected and subsequently compiled into the Sikh holy book, Guru Granth Sahib (normally referred to as Gurbani) under three different sections as detailed below:

First section
The first section comprising of two shabads is in Raag Asa at page 488 of the Guru Granth Sahib. The Bani starts " ਆਸਾ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਜੀਉ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ",

The second section comprising of two shabads is in Raag Suhi at page 794 of the Guru Granth Sahib. The Bani starts " ਰਾਗੁ ਸੂਹੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਜੀ ਕੀ ॥ " - Raag Soohee

Third section
The third section is by far the longest section comprising about 8 pages in Raag Jaijaiwanti starting at page 1377 of Guru Granth Sahib and ending at page 1384. The Bani starts with the line: " ਸਲੋਕ ਸੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਕੇ" - Shaloks Of Shaykh Fareed Jee:" This section consists of couplets which have become very famous among the followers of Babaji.
